Pema Karpo Meditation Center's Wednesday Night Zoom Class
This class is being taught by Khenpo Gawang Rinpoche using a newly translated and important text The Aspiration Prayer of Dewachen by Karma Chagme Rinpoche.
Enlightenment? Yes, we want it! Yet here we are, in this precious human life being pulled in many ways with little time to practice. Is there a backup plan? A way out of samsara for the busy householder?Rinpoche has been thinking about this question and will begin to explain a way - being born in the Pure Land of the Buddha Amitabha.
Learn what it is and how we can go there when we die. Understand how it fits within Tibetan Buddhism and our methods of hearing, contemplating and meditating.
Text available for download on "Dharma" tab on Aug. 24th.
COVID-19 Pandemic - Padmasambhava Practice
We who practice Tibetan Buddhist can turn to Padmasambhava, Guru Rinpoche, gather our compassion and courage, and practice from the depths of our heart.
Padmasambhava Practice and optional Vajra Guru Mantra Accumulation
Here is the link for a video of the Practice with Khenpo Gawang Rinpoche on YouTube
great teacher, Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche, while teaching at Namdroling Monastery
on March 27, 2020, requested individuals accumulate 100,000 or more Vajra Guru
Mantra as a way to help purify the world wide negative karma that has led to
the COVID-19 pandemic.
How to Practice for Accumulation: If you do not have a sadhana with the Vajra Guru mantra included to use as a practice container for the accumulation of the 100,000 recitations, then please use the one in the Padmasambhava Practice booklet. Recite the Refuge and Bodhichitta section three times. Recite the Seven Line Supplication. Begin reciting the Vajra Guru mantra and continue as long as you wish for the session. We chant slowly online as a group but you may do the recitation mentally or aloud as fast as is comfortable for you to do while still reciting each syllable. If you are counting with a mala then traditionally one circle of 108 beads is counted as 100 or in short hand 1. Try to finish a full mala if possible before stopping. Then recite The Prayer to Remove Obstacles on the Path and the Prayer for All Peoples of the Earth one time. Finish with one recitation of the Dedication of Merit.
Here's a talk by Khenpo Gawang RInpoche on the meaning of the Prayer to Guru Rinpoche to Clear Obstacles on the Path, also known as The Prayer in Six Vajra Lines to Guru Rinpoche or commonly as Dusum Sangye, revealed by Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa. It is a main one of the practices we are doing.
The Seven Line Supplication to Padmakara
This is a short talk on the famous supplication to Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) followed by a shortened recitation of the practice that is being done daily on our YouTube channel.
